Process takes on many different forms in my work. It’s important for me to acknowledge my process because without it, I’d be a very weak designer. For me, the process of creating work never really ends, it never really finishes because people take it on in many different ways. These collages have helped me strip back down to the fundamental elements of design such as colour and composition. Each day over summer, I sit down tearing up old vogue editions, or my Mums home & country magazines, searching for something that just stands out. I don’t set out with any criteria, so each collage is born to be entirely unique and entirely separate from yesterdays. The simple art of cutting and sticking has become such a process that all of my future work can grow from it.
