The Still Life and the Landscape are two of the most traditional processes practiced in classical art. Whilst my own work remains contemporary, it has been inspired by various 17th-century painters who practised these styles upon the canvas.
Combining modern photographic processes with antiquated styles, the work raises questions on the authenticity and reality that a photograph presents. The compositions are soft and romantic but exploratory at their heart, looking at the commonalities and boundaries between the fine arts and photography, resulting in a visual style that floats somewhere in-between both practices.
